A Bit About Me...

The Purpose of This Site

I started my teaching career right after graduation from The University of New Hampshire in 1983. I began with a year-long internship at my alma mater, which was then called Oxford Hills High School. I then taught migrant students for one year in MSAD#39. In 1985 I began teaching 8th grade language arts at Oxford Hills Junior High School. From 1988-1991 I taught English to 7th, 8th and 9th graders from all over the world at the American School of Brasilia in Brazil. In 1991 I returned to Maine and to teaching 8th grade at what had become Oxford Hills Middle School. In 2003-2004 I took a sabbatical to pursue my interest in Holocaust education and I also volunteered in my son's 4th grade classroom. In 2004 I began my current position teaching 9th graders at OHCHS.

I live in West Paris, Maine with my son, Logan, and our Maine coon cat, Hyperglide. In my spare time I enjoy playing the guitar and singing, camping, biking, skiing, swimming, and spending time on my computer. This will be my seventh year as a member of Team 1.
