I chose the book Night by Elie Wiesel. It is a true story, a biography. I selected this book just because it looked good and because I enjoy learning about the Holocaust and true stories seem to better and more realistic. This book is about Elie, a young boy who is sent to Auschwitz.
ipicked this book, soldier boys by dean hughes, because it really caught my intrest when the librarian was telling about it. from what she told us it is about two boys. ones american and ones german. and ther great friends until they find out that one of them is german.
The book I choose was Auschwitz And After. Its about a women that was sent to one of the camps in Auschwitz and survived and lived to tell her story of what happen to her. I choose this book becuase I like the real stories even if they are more bural they get more of a reacation then someone else telling to story or a just gviving information about the women or about the camp itself.
I chose the book "Daniel's Story" by Carol Matas. I chose this book becuase Mrs.Bancroft recomended it to me, and I always beleive what a teacher says about a teacher. This story is not a true story but it is based on things that did happen to other people during the Holocaust. I have not started reading this book because I just got it today.
Anne Frank is the one of the people that were in the Holocaust that I know most about. With that said, I chose the book "Anne Frank: Beyond the Diary." It is written by Ruud van der Rol and Rian Verhoeven. So far I haven't started actually reading the book, but I have skimmed through it. It really isn't a reading book, it is a photographic remembrance which means that it has lots of pictures with captions filled with information. I selected this book because I already knew quite a bit of information about Anne, I had read her diary and visited her hideout. This is the book about her I haven't read, so I am pretty excited to start reading.
The book that I am reading is called Alive in the Killing Fields. It is a true story about a little boy who watched his mother die! She got shot twice, he watched many people in his family die. All he had left was his dad, brother and two sisters. They are put to work harvesting rice. They are not eating very much and have to steal food. If they get caught not only will they pay but their whole family will have to pay too.
The book that I chose for the Holocaust project was Sisterland by Linda Newbery. The book is not a true story, but is based on a very much so true topic. The book is about a elderly grandmother who is suffering from Alzheimer disease, and goes to live with her daughter and her daughter's family for further care. The grandmother has a very difficult time remembering things and sometimes the things she say doesn't make since. The only thing she is starting to remember again is the Holocaust. I selected this book because I have been around people with Alzheimer disease and I know how it affects their life and the ones around them.
The Book I chose was The In Striped Pajamas by John Boyne. I do not think it is a real story but it is cosiderred a fable.I chose this book because I heard people saying that it was a really good book.
The book I chose is The Sunflower, written by Simon Wiesenthal. I believe it is a true story. I chose this book because of what it is about. How a Nazi is dying and he asks a Jew for his forgiveness. Its an awkward position to be in because even if he didn't beat you or your family he has to your friends. Also the "second" book is about many different people telling you what they would do.
I chose the book called Briar Rose, written by Jane Yolen. I know that it's about a Grandmother who is telling a story about a girl named Briar Rose, i haven't really read it so far so I'm not completely sure what its about. I selected this book because I love how it looked like a story I'd be interested in and i like the cover, and I had read what it said on the back and I like how it sounded.

I chose the book, For Freedon the story of a french spy.It was written by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley. It is historical fiction. I no alot about this subject because we learned about it in middle school, alot threw out the year. I choose this book because the cover looked really interesting and sneaky. I read the back and I ended up with the book in my hand. I loved this book. It was the most exciteing story ever.
