Share your background knowledge of the Holocaust. What was the Holocaust. When did it occur? Who was involved and why? Have you read any books or seen any movies on this topic. If so, briefly tell us about it. Do you have any specific questions you would like answered or topics you would like to explore?

I do not know much about the holocaust but what I do know is that it was very life changing. Also Hitler killed a lot of Jews. A lot of the Jews were tortured and kept in concentration camps. It was a tragedy and many innocent people were killed. Hitler was also part Jew but killed many Jews when he turned to the German side.

My Knowledge about the holocaust is very little. I know that Hitler tryed to kill all of the jewish people. They were put in camps so they could be killed. I think this is a very interesting thing to talk about. Sometimes when I'm board I go watch things about the holocaust on the history channel. I've seen two movies about it too.

I don't know too much about the Holocaust but I do know that Hitler was the leader of it and he had an image of the perfect race; blonde hair and blue eyes. He put all the Jews into concentration or death camps. He killed them in gas chambers. I think I read one book on it in sixth grade when we did a unit on it but I don't remember what it was about and I did see a movie about a girl who was named after her aunt and she thinks it's stupid until she learns that her aunt was killed in the Holocaust then she has a dream that she is her aunt and wakes up and has a lot more respect for the stories that people tell about how she got her name and the Holocaust and stuff like that.

The Holocaust fascinates me in many ways. I love talking about such a sad topic. I have studied the Holocaust many many times. I have read books on it, like Yellow Star. I have heard movies are coming out with th latest celebrities in them. I know that if you had a family that you would be separated from each other. Some may stay with each other, some may not. They would be put to work, or they would be put into gas chambers to be killed. No matter what the Jewish died from this. The Concentration camps were run by Hitler. It is ridiculous because his mother was half Jewish, which makes him half Jewish as well. I know that people have used signals to one another to escape, or help people escape. People have survived this to live and share their story. They could only eat a certain amount of food, they slept on wood boards and had nothing to keep them warm. They were put on certain tasks worked to death practically. It's sad to hear about this so much, yet though it makes me so amazed at this whole situation.

Back when the German army was full of men that decided to kill off other men of a differnt religion. Headed by Hitler the Nazi party was in power in Germany and the laws were harsh, Hitler was leading his people on a march on Europe that killed thousands on the field and many more by gas pits or killed because they were Jewish. Germany, Italy and Japan were allied, and facing the U.S, U.K, and France the war raged but Hitler was killed by Russians and Americans, then we A-bombed the Japanese to end it all. It worked and now America is on top of the world for ending World War ll

I know a fair amount on the holocaust. The holocaust happened during WW2, when Hitler was the fuhrer of Germany. Not many people knew what was happening. Jews where locked up in ghettos and then taken to death camps or concentration camps. Jews weren't the only people killed during the holocaust; Homosexuals, Gypsies and mentally ill people were also killed. In death camps, the prisoners where put into chambers that looked like showers and gassed. After their bodies where incinerated in giant ovens. The most famous death camp is Auschwitz. Also doctors and scientists preformed gruesome experiments on the prisoners and even babies. The most well know doctor is Dr.Mangler. no one really knows what happened to Hitler after the holocaust. Many think that he killed himself and other think that he escaped. I have read quite a few books on the holocaust for i am quite interested in this matter. The best book i have read so far about the holocaust is "Yellow Star". Its about a little Jewish girl who grows up during the holocaust and its a true story.

The Holocaust was when the Nazis put Jewish people into concentration camps. 6 million Jewish people were killed. Some died of disease, some from starvation and some were killed burned to death I think. Hitler was the person behind this because he believed that all of the problems people faced were caused by Jews and they should be punished for it. So he and the Nazis were in charge of handling the Jews, who were stripped of their clothing and forced into crowded rooms with other people.

I know a little about the Holocaust. I have only watched movies on it in social studies last year. I have read two books about it, The Book Thief and Number the Stars. I enjoyed The Book Thief more even though it was really depressing in some parts. Some general information that I know is that Hitler was the leader of the Nazi party which was based from Germany. He hated people with certain religions and ethnicities so he decided to capture them and put them into concentration camps. From the concentration camps they would be moved to death camps. People would be put into giant gas chambers and be killed. Families were separated from each other and many, many people died. Hitler didn't only kill Jews.

There were horrible deaths, people put in gas chambers. Some of the people were buried into the grounds in trenches. They even did experts on the Jewish people. Hitler didn't like Jewish people and the perfect people were the ones with blue eyes. Which is weired because he had brown eyes. I have seen some movies, the "The Boy in Striped Pants". He thought that if someone that was not a jew had a certain bone structure and had blonde hair and blue eyes they were almost like a god i guess you could say.

people with blonde hair and blue eyes were considered humans and he wanted to be like that. i heard he had some jewish in him but i'm not sure.

I don't know much about the holocaust but what I do know is that it was ran by Hitler and the Germans. And that it was based on a bunch of camps called death camps where Hitler kept and tortured and starved hundreds of thousands of jewish people no matter what age they were. Weather they were children, adults, men, or women they all got to be tortured in some way. The only forms of torture that I know that they did to the jewish people is that they starved them and put them in ovens. I also know that very few survived the holocaust. Also that a lot of people that were killed kept journals about how there life was being tortured by the Germans.

In eighth grade we learned about the Holocaust. We watched several movies of survivors that lived to tell their stories. We also read a lot out of the textbook. We learned that it was between the Nazi's and Jews led by Hitler. One of the famous people that was involved in the Holocaust was Anne Frank. She was taken from her house and put into hiding, but later was discovered and she was killed. They put people in concentation camps and gassed them. The Jewish captives were in death marches to the place where they gassed them. We also read a book called "The Boy in Striped Pajamas"

I have seen three movies on the holocaust, Schindler's List, The Devil's Arithmetic, and The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. Some books I have read on this topic are The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, The Devil's Arithmetic, and Hitler Youth. These were all very good but sad movies and books. I know that the holocaust started when Aldof Hilter won his place in office in Germany and that's when the allagations on jews began. First they were put into overcrowded ghetto's they then from there moved onto concentration camps or death camps. I know that one of the camps was called Auschwitz, which was a death camp. Hitler killed more than 6 million Jews and also handicapped and "imperfect" people. I read a book called Number the Stars which was about the Holocaust and the Star of David. I also watched a movie called Paperclips. It was about this sixth grade class that wanted to collect more than 6 million paperclips to symbol all of the Jews that died and that they got very famous people to send some paperclips. Also that all of the paperclips cot stored in a car that was used to transport Jewish people to the concentration and death camps. I also know a little about the camps like Aushwitz and how it was 3 camps in one and there were more than 1 million people killed there. I also know a little about memorials. There is a huge memorial that is mushroom shaped ane it has actual ashes under it and at the end of every day, a worker has to go and sweep the ashes up to the bottom of the monument because they blow around.
